The Benefits of Bed and Breakfasts

Regardless of where you are at in the world, a bed and breakfast is generally a great place to spend the night. Many of these types of accommodation are remodeled homes or mansions. Some of todays bed and breakfasts have been restored to show off the way that they were originally built and usually include some of the most beautiful wood work, spacious brick fireplaces, and other designs of the era that they were built in.

The majority of bed and breakfasts offer a delicious meal in the morning which generally consists of breakfast meat, eggs, toast and or biscuits, fried potatoes, pancakes and waffles, as well as coffee, juice, and milk. Some only offer a continental breakfast which generally includes coffee, milk, juice, and doughnuts. The morning breakfast is always included in the room rate.

There are no certain guidelines that describe what a bed and breakfast icludes, so each one will be different. For this reason it is extremely important that you ask plenty of questions and know what is included prior to booking reservations. The best way to find a reputable bed and breakfast is to search online.

While many bed and breakfasts are small and quaint, there are many that offer all the amenities we need to cater to our every need. Some places are nice enough that you are able to book a suite that includes you own private hot tub, as well as the Internet in your room. Depending on the location of the bed and breakfast you will also be able to experience different recreational activities including biking, golf, skiing, and canoeing.

A bed and breakfast is the perfect way to get away for a romantic weekend. Bed and breakfasts are such a popular way for couples to get away that many offer a special romance package which generally includes a professionally planned weekend full of amazing events.

How To Lose 10 Pounds Fast

When you just have to fit into that beautiful dress for the party, wedding, or other special event in your life... or you're impatient to wear your favorite pair of jeans to see some old friends... or you just noticed you've put on a few extra pounds and you can't stand the idea of everything feeling just a little too tight: Losing ten pounds quickly is usually one of the first things you want to do.

And believe it or not, it's actually easier to do than you might imagine. You see, losing five or ten pounds quickly is very possible. In fact, most people can do this in just 5-10 days. Here are three ways you can easily lose 5-10 pounds fast:

1. Drop sugars from your diet for a week or two. For some people, all that's needed is to stop having regular white sugar for a short while. Don't put sugar in your coffee or tea, don't drink sugared sodas, and don't eat sugar-laden foods like doughnuts.

If dropping sugar alone doesn't help you start dropping weight, then drop carbs as well: Particularly simple carbs. Carbohydrates turn to sugar in your body, and thus they make you hold onto body weight and fat. Simply by dropping your intake of carbs for a week or two, you can drop as much as 10 pounds in 7 short days.

Now how much weight you lose will depend on how much you drop the carbs - and how well your body responds. Some people can limit their carbs to 100 grams a day and still drop weight quickly, while others may need to limit their carbs to just 20 or 30 grams a day. The point is: Limiting your carb intake for a week or two will almost always cause you to lose weight.

2. Go on a juice or vegetable fast. Juice usually works best here, because your body doesn't have a lot of fiber and bulk to process. It can simply extract the nourishment it needs from the juice.

You need to know though, that juices high in sugar could cause you to not lose weight as quickly. The best way to do a juice fast is to simply drink fresh squeezed lemonade. It's been said that you should sweeten the lemonade with maple syrup instead of sugar or artificial sweetners though, because that adds extra vitamins and minerals your body needs while fasting. You'll also want to take a multi vitamin or herbal combination to help keep your strength up, and to be sure you're not missing any vital nutrients while fasting.

If you choose to do a juice fast, it's extremely important to research it first. You can become very sick if you go on a fast for 1-2 weeks, and then try to go back to normal solid foods all at once. You'll need to gradually ease yourself back into normal eating, so be sure to work that part of the process into your plan. You wouldn't want to fast right up to the day of your big event, only to make yourself sick when you try to enjoy yourself.

3. Take an herbal supplement. An herb like Chickweed for instance, will help curb your appetite. Kelp is an herb that acts like a diuretic: In other words, it helps you shed extra water weight your body may be holding on to. Chlorophyll is an herb that will help your bowels move, and sometimes this alone can help you lose several pounds of weight. You can also expel extra weight through your bowels by taking fiber supplements: Lots of them.

So there you have it: Three easy ways to lose 5-10 pounds quickly - usually in just a week or less. Keep in mind that this weight loss may not be permanent though, because the first week or two of weight loss generally involves losing water weight. We'll cover this point and many more in future articles.

Selling Your Shop As 'The' Place To Work

If youre a smart cookie you advertise, you market, you engage the services of professionals to assist in the sale of products and services But who sells your business to prospective employees?

Now thats a tough one! And its not something that too many people think about. Recruiting new employees in most industries is done on an as needed basis and therein lies the problem no future planning, and no selling consideration.

The opener to my column this month raises the point that you likely spend time and resources trying to capture new clients. You make sure that you can (to the best of your ability) service them in a way that corresponds to your sales promise.

--- What do you promise your future employees?

Your sales promise is one of the principle reasons why customers bring their business to you. And so long as your internal reality (the way you perform and deliver on that promise) matches your external reality (the way in which you are perceived) you can expect success.

But again, how do you market and sell to the second most important people in your company your staff? And dont think for a moment that once youve got them theyre going to simply stick around Do your customers just stay?

Youve got to resell and recommit them to you and your business. Just like customers who get up one day and leave, never to return, so do employees. Theyre people just like you and I and things change. Life is constantly in flux and evolving and as a species we are adapting.

--- Nothing happens until someone sells somethingin this case its you!

Now without getting too deep, simply think of it this way, you sell to employees they buy your money and sell you their time. Alternatively your Clients (or customers) buy your services (provided by your employees) and pay you money. Without a steady and constant stream of buying and selling transactions you have no business!

Okay, so now that Ive established that we need to sell ourselves (or at least our businesses) to prospective employees, so that we have a stream of available resources as we need them, the question becomes how?

Ironically, you can approach the process of selling your company as the place to work in the same fashion that you advertise your business as the place for customers to bring their vehicles: you simply advertise.

--- But this time its different:

The market is not the same because the people who will buy your job offer are not the same as the people who would buy your vehicle repair services.
The advertising mediums will likely overlap a little, but just like a certain bait only works for certain fish, this too will cause things to change. Serious enquirers will likely want quality information so expect to create brochures and other sales pieces tailored to their needs.
And the message will most definitely be different. TIP - Position yourself a leading local business thats offering a unique opportunity not a job.

--- Early to bed, early to rise, work like hell and advertise!

As I suggested, serious enquirers will likely want more information. Id recommend at least a good employment brochure a standard tri-fold will suffice. Youll need to talk about the opportunity, explain their benefits, your history and a host of other proven topics.

The content, design and structure of a typical employment brochure is beyond the scope of this article, however if youd like a template and more information feel free to visit my website and drop me line (I've got one kicking around somewhere...)

Once youve created your employee brochure make sure its placed on your counter, make it available to potential candidates via email, direct mail and take one displays.

Encourage your staff to suggest referrals. You can use display advertising but again, youll need to do things a little differently than perhaps your used to. Either way, there are plenty of good resources that can show you how to target market future employees.

In conclusion, dont treat marketing to your employees as an after thought: your future depends on it. And remember, even once theyre on board, youve got to give them reasons to stay and it will need to include more than just money based incentives.

Happy hunting!
